what is somatic coaching?

Extraordinary, lasting change is possible when we connect to our body’s vast intelligence and learn how to follow it. As your Somatic Coach I’m here to guide you and support you on that journey.

Every body is different. Some bodies need yoga, some need Pilates, some need barefoot trail running, some need raw food, some need cooked food, some need paleo, some need vegan, some need acupuncture, some need cold water therapy, some need singing, some need massage, some need weight training, some need art…The list goes on! With all the wellness/healing modalities out there it's easy to get overwhelmed. As your Somatic Coach I’m here to guide you through all of your options and give you tools to help you listen to what works best for your own body's health and healing.

I am a certified Body-Mind Centering Somatic Movement Educator (say that 5x fast!). I am a certified Transforming Touch practitioner, and am trauma informed in nervous system regulation and somatic trauma work. I am trained in Rhythmic Movement (RM), Primitive Reflex Integration and I specialize in Developmental Trauma work.

my story

In my early twenties, shortly after I graduated from university, I fell ill with a mysterious, debilitating illness. I went to doctor after doctor. Had test after test done. Was confined to bed for months.

 

I didn’t know it at the time but it was the beginning of the most important journey I’d ever go on in my life, one that would teach me how to do the work I do today.

 

It sent me to live in many different countries, train with the world’s leading somatic teachers, dance with people from all over the world, study nutrition, psychology, natural medicine, expressive arts therapy, Presence Based Coaching, Body-Mind Centering, and nervous system healing in order to discover how our bodies really and truly and– most importantly–WHOLLY heal.

I’m here to offer back everything that journey taught me. 

 

True and lasting change happens first at the level of the body. When we work to understand, be with, and shift our habitual movement patterns we make space for greater power, inspiration, focus, health, and creativity in our lives.

 

My workshops and coaching center around finding a deeper, more meaningful relationship to our embodied experience, as well as how to use this relationship to attain and sustain our life goals.

 

Whether it's in a group workshop or through private coaching, I'm here to help you live the life you want, in a body that will guide you and support you every step of the way.
